An ideal location for walkers, cyclists or those wanting a restful break close to
the historic towns of Rye and Battle
The Mill House is situated between Rye and Battle both of which are a 15min drive. Tenterden with its
Steam Railway, antique shops and many restaurants are a short drive approximately 25mins. The stunning
gardens of Great Dixter, Pashley Manor and Sissinghurst are all within a short drive so are Bodiam Castle,
Battle Abbey and Scotney Castle.
Eat out at the Local Pub
The Red Lion pub nearby offers local beers and good food. It has a relaxed feel, candles on tables,
excellent choice of food, and offers good value. The menu includes local fish dishes and little touches like
olives and bread to start and homemade shortbread with coffee.
Walk through the Brede Valley
The Brede Valley is a stretch of beautiful Sussex countryside near Rye, where the Romney and Walland
marshland extends westwards past Winchelsea between two steep ridges of the rolling High Weald. See
